This three-phased project, under the funding of Australian Aid, aims to empower large cardamom (Alainchi) farmers in Chainpur Municipality, Sankhuwasabha, by enhancing their technical skills, supporting local processing, and establishing direct export linkages. It combines hands-on training with in-depth market research and price mechanism analysis to strengthen farmers’ and traders' bargaining power. By advocating for supportive national export policies and branding Nepalese Alainchi for regional markets, the project aims to boost incomes, reduce dependency on foreign intermediaries, and position Nepal as a competitive player in the global spice trade.
